Playa Portrero is known for it's sand beach and absolutely stunning sunsets featuring silhouetted sailboats and yachts. Additionally, Native Costa Rican's know it as perhaps the best location to call your "home base" in all of Guanacaste Province, as it is centrally located to a collection of the most beautiful beaches and coastlines in Costa Rica including Playa Flamingo, Tamarindo Beach, Playa Conchal, Playa Penca, Playa Real and Danta Beach in Las Catalinas — all within a 5 minute (Playa Flamingo) to 35 minute (Tamarindo Beach) drive. It is also well positioned to the Marino Las Baulas National Park, which is home to nesting leatherback sea turtles, and also within easy driving distance of other popular destinations in the region, such as the Arenal Volcano and the Monteverde Cloud Forest.

Casa Marina Bahia is also just a 3 minute drive to it's namesake, the new $50 million world-class Flamingo Marina, which also calls Playa Potrero home. Casa Marina Bahia is also conveniently located directly between two lovely towns: Potrero, 5 minutes to the north, and Flamingo, 5 minutes to the south.

Potrero is a classic Costa Rican coastal enclave offering the authentic Pura Vida lifestyle with a family sailing center, supermarkets, local restaurants, breweries, fishing and other water activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking. Known for its local flavor, which reflects the unique blend of cultures and traditions that make up the town, the town is home to a mix of Costa Ricans, expats, and tourists, and this diversity is reflected in the food, music, and other aspects of local culture.

There are a number of local restaurants in Potrero that offer traditional Costa Rican cuisine, as well as international options. Many of these restaurants use fresh, local ingredients and feature open-air seating, making them a great place to relax and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of the town.

Flamingo is known for its beautiful beach, Playa Flamingo, a long stretch of light sand and clear water, and a number of luxury resorts, restaurants, and other amenities. Despite its small size, Flamingo has a range of activities and attractions including water sports, horseback riding, and more. The town is also home to a number of golf courses, including the 18-hole course at Hacienda Pinilla Golf Club.
